Space birthday card

I've been looking for some good card making websites and found this great sketch on the Card Positioning Systems website.  I love sketches, they really take all the hard work and thinking out of card making.  It saves me a whole lot of time if I use a sketch instead of trying to think up something creative!
Here is the sketch that was being used this week - I rotated it 90 degrees and made a birthday card with the astronaut and rocket from 'Everyday paper dolls' cricut cartridge.  I'm not sure what I think of my card...maybe all that patterned paper is a bit too busy?  The worst part about it all is that when I went to enter it on the CPS site for their challenge, I realised that I was 22 hours too late!  Oh well, next time!

Belated Birthday Card

Birthday Sundaes latest card challenge is to create a belated birthday card.  This will definitely come in handy for me because I am not the best at remembering birthdays!  I have no doubt that my card will get used.  My first thought was to use the bee image from create a critter and to write 'Happy Bee-lated Birthday' but it seems that other people had already thought of that...so I went with the very cute Bear image from create-a-critter with the sentiment, 'I'm Beary sorry I forgot your birthday'.  I love using puns with these critters!  (Ooh, I just thought of another one....Happy Baa-lated Birthday for the sheep image!)  I should have done that!
The card is a tri-fold card, I love making these because they look so hard to make but really they are very easy!  They are also a great way to use up scraps in your stash as you only need lots of little pieces of patterned paper.  Anyway, here it is, with front view and an open view.  Hope you like it!

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

This morning I made a card for the Peachy Keen Stamps 'Let's face it Friday' challenge.  The challenge was to make a project that 'radiates the warmth of sunshine' using Peachy Keen Stamps faces.  I just LOVE my PKS faces!  I used a few different expressions from the Everyday Faces assortment to make faces for my flowers and the sun.

A couple of Halloween cards

I stumbled across a website the other day that really grabbed my attention.  It is called 'Funky cards' (which is the first reason I was attracted to it!).  It is run by a girl in her teens and she encourages her followers to make cards for children and families who are going through a tough time with their health.  Each month she chooses a different family or hospital to support.  You can learn more about her card project 'I feel the love' here.
Anyway, this month she was asking for support for children at the Pediatric Specialty Care and asked if we could make some fun, child-friendly Halloween cards so that she could deliver some cheer to these children and their families.  Living in Australia, we don't really celebrate Halloween, well, in my household we don't anyway, so this was a little bit of a challenge as I had no Halloween papers or embellishments in my stash of scrapping supplies.  However, with a bit of a search through my cricut cartridges, I came up with these two cards which I hope will cheer up a couple of children at Halloween time.

So far Madison has received over 160 cards from her followers which is a fantastic effort!  Here's hoping she gets to 200 cards real soon.
