3 Cheers for you

And one more masculine card for the Perfect Sentiments Challenge.
Again, this card used images from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge.

I embossed the red cardstock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder then inked over the top of it with a white ink pad to make it stand out.  The brown cardstock was embossed with the Swiss dots embossing folder.

Happy Birthday to Moo!

I made this card for my very good friend's husband who is turning 45 in a couple of weeks.  He owns a farm so I thought it was pretty appropriate.  Love the sentiment - always makes me smile!
The cow image is from the Birthday Bash cartridge - a cartridge I turn to a lot.

I am entering this in the Perfect Sentiments Challenge 50 - Masculine birthdays.  This is a challenge blog that I just stumbled upon today, so I look forward to seeing lots of great masculine cards.  There challenge is:  Challenge/Twist: make a birthday card/make it masculine/include a sentiment on the front.  I think I have ticked all the boxes with this one!

I had to hold myself back from adding flowers to this card.  If it was for a girl, then I would have had heaps of bright flowers going up the fence...but it's not really appropriate for a masculine card!  So I have stuck with this simple card and just stitched around the edges in red instead.

It's your day - sunshine card

Here are some more of my little 4x4 inch cards that I am really enjoying making.  This first one is being entered into 2 challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - anything goes challenge
Paper Playtime - anything goes challenge

The sun and 'it's your day' sentiment were cut from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge - one of my all time favourite cartridges.
I love the look of stitching around the edges of the cards, it just gives it that finishing touch I think.  I love this little sunshine - it makes for a bright and cheery birthday card.

A variation on my bunny birthday card

Here are some variations on my bunny birthday card that I shared in my last post.  I think my favourite is this first one, with the embossing on the card.  I have been sticking to my word and only using scraps from my stash and it's amazing what you can find when you sort through the piles!  I am going through a 'less is more' and 'keep it simple' phase at the moment.  Also trying to do a few cards at once instead of trying to come up with something new each time.  I like how quickly a 4x4 inch card can come together.

Peachy Keen Challenge

I have been keeping good with my promise to myself to start using my stash.  I am loving going through all my leftover pieces and using them on cards.

This card was made for the Peachy Keen 'anything goes' challenge.  The stamped bunny face is from the Peachy Keen 'Animal faces - small' set.  I think it's rather cute!  Peachy Keen have a great sale going on at the moment, but it's just for one day - definitely worth checking out if you love their stamps.

The rabbit and present were cut from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge.
The sentiment stamp is a CC Designs one.

I am loving making smaller cards - they are so much fun to make and so quick and easy.  This card is 4x4 inches and is perfect as a little card to add with a birthday present.

Cat in a cake card!

This card was made for a gorgeous little girl who is turning 2 in the next couple of weeks.
I used the Card Patterns sketch for the layout design, I just rotated it 90 degrees to make it fit with the design.
Here is the sketch:
and how it looks rotated!

I am also entering this card in the Bitten By the Bug 2 challenge.   The theme is.........The Bakery........create a project with anything you would find in a bakery.  Please remember that this is a "Cricut" blog so you MUST use your Cricut for the selected cut to enter the challenge.
I used my Birthday Bash cricut cartridge to cut the cat and cake image.  Yummy cakes are definitely something you would find in a bakery (hopefully not a cat though!)

All papers are Kaisercraft, as is the stamped sentiment and the brad in the middle of the flower.
I used MFT 'pretty posies' die to cut the felt flowers and MFT scallop die for the brown pp scallop.
I used my 'Swiss dots' embossing folder to emboss the pink cardstock.

A little lesson I learnt - if I want to sew on my paper, then I need to do all the sewing before I emboss.  This morning I embossed the dots and then sewed around the edges of the cardstock, but the sewing machine foot kind of flattened some of my dots!  Probably common sense to everyone else, but something I have learned today!

Some cards I've been working on...

I needed a couple of baby cards the other day so I made these two.  Quite simple but I still like them.  The little monkey is from Create a Critter (of course!).  I really like the textured cardstock that I used for the card base.  A little bit of stitching and inking around the squares and that was pretty much it!

These little hippo cards were made using the Birthday Bash cartridge - there are so many options on this cartridge, I really need to sit down and read through the booklet.  I really like the sentiment, 'Hip Hippo Hooray' - I love a good pun!  If I make any more of these then I think I would use a neutral colour for the base of the card, maybe kraft or brown to make the hippo stand out a bit more.  But I do like the look of the hippo cut out in patterned paper.  Pretty cute, but best of all, very quick and very easy to make.
